BIOGRAPHY


Bill Thompson served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy for 25 years (Nov. 10, 1963 to Nov. 30, 1988). He served in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968 on the U.S.S. Oriskany (CV-34). He received a Navy Commendation for valor during a major fire on the Oriskany which took the lives of 44 follow seamen. He retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He and his wife, Sandra had three children. He has seven grandchildren and 4 great=-grandchildren. After retiring from the Navy he was a self-employed businessman with a small lawn care service which he operated for many years. He is active member of Producing Faith Ministries in Cropwell, Alabama.
