Dr. Warren Horace Mory Jr. died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at at the age of 92. He was a citizen and soldier of both countries, Costa Rica and the USA. He was a veteran of the Second World War, and fought on the fronts of Africa and Europe. He served as a U.S. Army Ranger during the invasion of Normandy, where he received the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star for valor in combat, the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat, the Presidential Unit Citation, and other awards. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, the much loved and respected scholar, Professor Don Federico Solórzano Sandoval, his father, Don Warren H. Mory Sr. who was also an educator, his mother the very distinguished Mrs. Berta Solórzano Hernández, and his son, Warren Horace Mory III. He is survived by his wife Hilda Barboza Mory, his children, William Paul Mory, Tanya Mory Constantine, and Kirk Joseph Mory, and many beloved grandchildren.
