Few details are known of the Revolutionary War service of Morgan Mills. On 27 Nov 1828 he applied for pension benefits as a resident of Cahawba, Dallas Co, AL. His pension was approved and he received an allowance of $80 per year. He was listed on the rolls of the 2nd NJ Regiment from May 1782 until May 1783. During this time, with the war largely over, the 2nd NJ Regiment primarily performed guard duty. We do not know when Morgan Mills came to Alabama but know he was in Dallas Co, AL by 2 Apr 1825 when he received a land grant. He lived in Dallas Co, AL until his death in 1841.
