BIOGRAPHY

Joined the USAF in 1961. After basic training at Lackland AFB I was assigned to the 68 th field maintenance squadron (SAC) at Chennault AFB in Lake Charles, Louisiana. While there i served during the Cuban Crisis and the Cold War. Chennault AFB was closed and i was then assigned to the 39th Field Maintenance at Andersen AFB. There was lots of activity at Andersen since we were in direct support for troops in Vietnam. While at Andersen, President John Kennedy was killed and at that time i saw the first bomber take off with a nuclear bomb on board. It was only several hours later we learned about the President. While at Andersen i recieved an injury on the flight line that got worse as time went on. I was sent to the United States Naval Hospital in Agana, Guam. After several months in the hospital they determined my injuries were not treatable and i was sent to the USAF Hospital at Maxwell AFB. I was retired on full disability and discharged in February of 1966.
