BIOGRAPHY

Little is known about the Revolutionary War service for John Bradford. His service has been recognized by the DAR and several membership applications have been made by descendants of son Gabriel. According to DAR, he was a soldier in Captain Joseph Hill's company under the command of Colonel Richard Richardson, and later General Francis Marion. In 1772 John Bradford moved to what later became Sumter District, SC, and he lived here after the war until he moved to AL after the 1820 census. In AL, he settled in the Spartan community in Conecuh Co.
