American Revolution - Naval Campaign

The Naval Campaign played an important and decisive role in the ultimate success of America’s fight for Independence.  George Washington said of the Navy “It follows that as certain as that night succeeds the day, that without a decisive naval force we can do nothing definitive, and with it, everything honorable and glorious”.  American Privateers also played a significant role in the harassment of British shipping and running guns.
